Your kindness can open doors

At Asylum Welcome, we believe safety begins with welcome.

This winter across Oxfordshire, newly recognised refugees are being evicted from government accommodation with just 28 days’ notice.

After everything they’ve been through, major barriers to work, housing and language can leave people with nowhere to go — at real risk of sleeping on the streets, just when they should finally be able to feel safe.

Without support, people face cold nights, isolation and risk.
With your help, they can find warmth, safety and a welcoming community.

Michael — “Finally, my brain could calm down.”

After weeks sleeping rough, Michael was matched with an emergency Sanctuary Hosting host.

Now he’s rebuilding his life surrounded by people who care.

Mariam — “I could start to rebuild.”

Evicted from asylum accommodation just before Christmas in 2024, Mariam found emergency support and a local host.

Today she works in a school — a role she cherishes.

How your gift helps

Your donation this winter could provide:

  • Emergency accommodation and food
  • Warm clothing and essentials
  • A welcoming community and long-term support

Each safe night gives someone the chance to rest and begin again.

A man in a white shirt stands smiling in a kitchen, hands together as if mid-conversation. Pots and bowls are stacked on the cupboards above him.
Graphic showing pound coins and the text: “Your donation will be doubled,” with a note that matching applies until £12,500 is reached.
A young man and an older woman sit at a table laughing together, with plates of muffins and doughnuts in front of them. A plant and watering can are on the windowsill behind.

Since 2015, Sanctuary Hosting has provided more than 40,000 nights of safe and secure accommodation for people facing homelessness.

About Sanctuary Hosting

Guests also have access to Asylum Welcome’s wrap-around support — from English classes to employment and housing advice — helping them move from crisis to independence.

Give warmth. Give hope. Give welcome.

This winter, thanks to the generosity of local philanthropists, your gift will be doubled until the £12,500 matched fund is met.

Your support helps us offer safety, dignity and hope to refugees in Oxfordshire this winter.
